There's a great bus ride to be had in that part of England where Lancashire meets Cumbria meets North Yorkshire. I recently took a circular trip from Lancaster (Lancashire) taking in Kirkby Lonsdale (Cumbria) and Ingleton (North Yorkshire). I highly recommend it.
